I'm Another Day Older---and Deeper in Debt

The song, Sixteen Tons, was written in 1946 by a man named Merle Travis.  It was the beginning of what would be known as the BABY BOOMER GENERATION.  In 1955, Tennessee Ernie Ford made the song famous as I remember it.

"....Another day older and deeper in debt

Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go

I owe my soul to the company store..."

As I read the words to the song, I couldn't help thinking how some things just NEVER seem to change!
